I agree with Mike, that's freakin ridiculous and no you didn't over react. He needs to own up to what he did and pay you for the repairs

I honestly don't even want to get the boat out. The lake is too low for me to feel comfortable. There were lots of areas that are normally 12-15 feet deep that were only 4-5 feet on Saturday. I don't care to trash my lower end and prop out in the middle of the lake. I say fuck it, lets just stay home and relax.

I have already decided in the rare chance that we do go, the 4 wheeler is staying home for sure. I'll go ride by myself or with my wife somewhere else.

I'll have to head out here sometime. And I am surprised to see gas cheaper at the lake. Normally its higher, but most of the time it's 100% gas, which is all my boat will ever see.

have any of you guys heard of this juice fasting/ feasting? after watching fat sick and nearly dead last night on netflix, chrissy got the great idea to go on a juice fast and drug me into it as well. we already own a vtamix so having a smoothie for breakfast or lunch is an almost everyday occurrence, this is only stepping it up a little. i agreed to go 10 days with her, then immediately tried to back out because i remember the holiday coming up. neither of us are severely overweight we are doing this more to cleanse and are planning a major eating habit change after. anyway we took pics and are documenting daily so if anyone cares ill post up a before and after too see if there is any truth to this. the guys on the show were losing 60lbs in so many days but the were also "obese". we are in good medical health so we are pretty confident about giving it a try although a loaded fajita burrito and 16oz steak sound so good to me and its only the first day.

I will also be adding in moderate exercise(what my back and ankle will allow)

ramthis9501

I've been trying to eat healthy to, what I've been doing is eat breakfast, then not eat until around 4 when I get home which consists of some kind of protein, like chicken or turkey. Then some kind of fruit like an apple or peach and to finish it off, a bottle of ensure which is a very healthy protein shake. I drink either juice or water with it. Then dinner is usually something good and somewhat healthy lol been doing this to stay in good health and get in shape for soccer starting up soon

BMRbrnSNRbrd
09-01-2011, 01:03 PM
My stepmom did it and lost a lot of weight. The only thing you have to think of is if you go back to normal eating you will most likely gain it back.

Believe it or not I used to be in great shape. I worked out six days a week and was a steady 185 while benching a max of 270 and squatting so much that the bar would actually bend from the weight. At my highest I've weighed I got to 240, that was Dec 07. I'm now at the lowest I've been since them at 203. The biggest thing I changed was giving up all soda and coffee as caffeine hinders weight loss.

ramthis9501
09-01-2011, 01:13 PM
I quit drinking soda all together to, all I drink is water and juice, Gatorade at times when I'm running or about to play a game

Where do you guys get the will power?

Little battles dude. I tried quitting soda about four times in the last five years. I'll be the first to admit that, while I don't have an addictive personality, I don't have much will power either. I just fought little battles. If I go in to get a drink, just grab a Gatorade or something, pay for it, and leave before you can change your mind. I stopped buying bottles of Coke for the house. Now I drink sweet tea, lemonade, etc. Sure, there's caffeine in tea, but I also don't drink it like I drank Coke.

09-01-2011, 02:20 PM
yeah in 2007 I was working in Tishomingo OK and when I was there I was 250 pounds and in 1 month and 2 weeks I dropped down to 168 pounds..... Now a lot played in on this.. I didn't really do it the healthy way (Like didn't eat anything for for a few weeks) but I was trying, Instead of sitting in my truck and watching the seismic crews I was out walking with them in the 110 degree weather which helped a lot but was also on the edge with my girlfriend who was up in NY and was fixing to leave me for another guy due to the fact that I only got to come home 4 times out of that entire year and I could only stay for 2 weeks at a time and she got sick of it and they fact that I had gained a lot of weight.. (She says that had noting to do with it but I doubt it) but I stopped drinking soda quit eating out 3 times a day and did work out when work permitted. over the last 4 years I have gone back up on weight, I am at 191 right now but I did keep the weight off and watched what I ate and worked out when I could...

I need to get back to working out.... I miss being 168 pounds and cut lol...

Yup aslong as you don't stock the fridge full of coke but instead with water and Gatorade it helps alot to bring the temptation down. I've only done this not eat until after school thing for about a week. I'm not even hungry right now, but will be later. Basically tricking my mind into it I guess. There is nothing healthy about Blanchard. Only way to eat good is wait to get home where there's good stuff

try not eating for 3 weeks and see how much you loose it comes off faster then you think.. When I did eat it was a few wheat thins.. On top of that walking from 5am to 7pm in southern OK in mid September 7 days a week it comes off even faster..

All i put in my body was water 2 jugs of water a day to make sure I wouldn't get dehydrated from the heat and get heat stroke.. I believe it's called the water diet

Go look it up..

i remember after i dropped out of HS i had a particular teacher giving me all kinds of hell on how big of a failure i would become. when i bought my second house at 19 it was 3 houses down from him and he thought i had moved in with my parents. that was always funny to me. i have been making double to triple his salary since i turned 18 and havent slowed down. reading is fundamental and school is important but you will only become as good as you want to be. i still make more than my cousins that graduated from usc. colton is a good kid his head is on right

So when I seen him he was broke and lost everything.......

These are the people telling us as kids that we will never make it in life???

and he use to tell me if you don't do good you will never make 35K a year like me.......hummm yeah about that....

I think college still helps a lot with finding a job, but honestly you will learn more in the first 6 months of your career than you will 4-5 years of higher education. I use very little of my "college knowledge" for work and ended with $50k in student loans.

you are definitely not the average high school graduate ... look at the facts college graduates make way more money than the average high school graduate .. however i wasn't referring to you having to make straight a's in high school to get a job it comes down to more of a work ethic .. my dad is another example of that he grossed half a mil last year and the dude has 0 schooling after high school but he has the strongest work ethic of anyone i have ever seen ... too many kids have that attitude bc they know someone who didn't go to college and they are making a bunch of money they think that college doesn't benefit them

different strokes for different folks ....

(S.M.R) 101
09-01-2011, 09:23 PM
it does come down to work ethic.. if you really want it bad enough like I did then you can do it, I am a firm believer in that.. My point was that they force kids to believe that if you don't do good in school and don't go to college that you have no chance to make it and that is a load of maniacal bull shit.. and I was out to prove a point to all the People and their malice intentions and demeaning things about how my life would end up..

My motto was I could either spend 60 to 70 grand or make it.... I took the other path, two each his own in this world.

and my point may seem illogical or egotistical but the fact remains why try to scare kids into thinking that their way is the only way... If anything it made me cast them out even more..

and 90% of the people I work with only graduated from High school and some of them were drop outs from high school and a good % of them make way more $$$ than I do

But anyway I've said my peace on the subject and it is what it is, take it with a grain of salt if you must but that's how I feel about it.

The mother ship for work is in Little Rock. Had my annual review today (which went well) then have our sales meeting tomorrow. Probably won't be done til 4 or 5 then I have a a 4 hour ride home. I'm with our outside sales guy in his company Impala. What an uncomfortable POS. For what he pays for it (nothing plus free gas card) I would drive it but it amazes me people actually pay money for these cars. A base model 3.5L charger is only a couple grand more and is 10x the car.

I need to vent... So last week during our first soccer game of the season, I pulled my right quadricep and dealed with it all week getting it healed back up. Then today at our game, I drive the ball up and get slide tackled from behind (which is illegal) but the asshole ref didn't call it, and I mess my left leg up. It's right above the knee and my quad, I can hardly bend it without it killing me. Its just pissing me off because I'm one of the only guys out there that gets aggressive and I get hurt. I don't get why it keeps doing this but I'm getting tired of it.

it's called the 4s not the 5
now sprint, att, verizon….3gs free now, iphone 4 8gb $99, iphone 4s, 16gb $199, 32gb $299, 64gb, $399…… has the a5 chip now which is a dual core processor, 7x faster graphics, 8mp camera with HUGE improvements in quality, sensor, and speed, 1080p video, siri technology that is a amazing voice recognition software, looks exactly like the iphone 4……

Matt

some examples

You can ask Siri about stocks. Siri says “NASDAQ Composite is down right now.” Siri is also partnered with Yelp, so you can ask something like “Find me a great Greek restaurant in Palo Alto.” Siri responds “I’ve found 14 Greek restaurants, 5 of them are in Palo Alto. I’ve sorted them by rating.” The ranked listing follows below.

Now, a question about the clock. “What time is it in Paris?” Response: “The time in Paris, France is 8:16 PM.” What about the alarm? “Wake me up tomorrow at 6am?” “OK I set it for 6am” Siri says. Impressive.

You can also ask the question a different way to get the same result. You can also ask something conceptual like, “Do I need a raincoat today?” Siri responds: “It sure looks like rain today.”

What does this mean for me? After a year or so I can go to my Major and give him my paperwork, within a couple weeks I'll be a full fledged Deputy Sheriff which means I will have finally entered law enforcement. What else does that mean? A raise of AT LEAST $12k a year...instantly. What will all my classes cost in the end? About $3600-$4800.

Need to vent....

School needs to fall in a hole and die. My teachers need to quit their job and go pick up trash off of the side of the highway. I'm getting sick of 5 tests a damn week and failing them since one there's no time to study for them and two the teachers suck complete ass at what they do. I mean seriously why the hell do they want to make junior year hell for you? It's the time of the year for semester tests and of course I have to do all the difficult ones. And for those you have to pull everything you've learned through the entire year out of your ass for one test. Shit when are they going to realize that pretty much every single thing we learn in there isn't going to apply to our lives? For example: Geometry, we have to know every single thing there is to know about a congruent triangle. When in the hell will I ever need to know that again? I'm going in to the medical field to work on mediflight, pretty sure I dont need to know how to find what x equals when I don't give a shit. I'm just stressed to the absolute max right now because my brain is on overload. Christmas break just needs to get here now. Even better, the end of high school.

Rant over. Thanks for reading if you did, I just needed to get that off my chest. Actually fill a little better now.

i will play the role of the other side.. you are a 16 year old kid ranting about how tough school is. You don't realize yet how tough life will be, you are ranting to "mostly" grown adults that have to work their asses off with a terrible boss to be able to pay for rent/food/etc for themselves and their family sometimes they struggle with even those basic things. Most of us have graduated high school and i bet everyone will agree that it was the easiest or close to time of our lives. You need to have a little more respect for your teachers ... yes there are good ones and bad ones however most of them live very sub-par lives financially and have a drive to help you learn and yadda .. there are very few people who become a teacher "just because" most are there to help mold young minds and help you become a better person in society. In every class there are kids like you who complain about not using what they are learning in the real world... and for a lot of stuff they are absolutely right but it's what takes a high school diploma and if you plan on going to college get used to it you'll have to take all kinds of stuff that isn't related to your degree -- and the kicker.. you have to pay for it as well. You might not ever use geometry again but you will face obstacles every day in your life and part of high school is learning how to get through tough circumstances and become an adult bc you will certainly face harder things once you're in the "real world". You might take a look at your priorities and what exactly is going on bc for someone who doesn't have a lot of time to study for school you spend an awful lot of time on this forum, including during school time.

Cliff notes:
Delegate your time wiser, cut out stuff that isn't important even if it's temporary.
Don't take school lightly, you'll regret it later in life- most will anyways.
Don't be so hard on your teachers they are there bc they want to help and don't get a ton of benefits to do so.
Buckle up bc after high school it only gets harder.

I'm going to have to agree with Matt on this one. I had the same thoughts you do when I was in high school, but now that I look back on it, those 4 years weren't really that bad. Bust ass in school and get good grades, it will make the rest of your life much easier.

I know what your saying my and your right. The teachers I'm talking about really don't need to be doing what they're doing, trust me. I try to devote my time but studying one night for a test the next morning gets really old really quick. That's what we have to do all the time in anatomy. I guess I just had to get that out because I'm having a hard time with it right now. I'm going to try my best with these semester tests but it's gonna be tough. Thanks guys, I realize high school is easy as it gets, guess I'm going to have go get used to it...

Hang in there bud.. I know its a pain in the ass but to tell you the truth. As much as I hated school there are days I wish I was back there instead of working my ass off.. and you will find your boss in the future could be way more of a Dick then your teachers.. so just grit your teeth and get it done dude..

Nobody likes highschool or college when they are there... Ask those people that same question in a few years when they have been working and actually living on there own.. I'm not saying everyone would want to be back in them days but a good amount will.

I had a great time in high school and loved it lol guess I'm the oddity I was involved in all the extra stuff and votech so I had a full plate but I had a good time it was nice only having to work for gas/spending money my only bill till I moved out at 18 was my cell ... Ahh if I could only go back again lol

That's another thing, I need to find a job lol Mowing over the summer just didn't cut it. I've applied at a few places here in Blanchard and of course haven't gotten a single call back. Probably need to go into Norman and try there to.

You will impress the manager of any business, from a burger flipper to a CEO, by calling them and asking about an interview. Don't rely on them looking for you, call them, tell them you just wanted to insure that your application made it to their desk and would like to know when scheduling an interview would be a possibility.

I actually handed my application to the manager at Ace Hardware and didnt get a call after she said they would. But I just found out that mazzios is hiring for delivery drivers. Might have to look into that.

All good points, David is 100% correct. If you can, definitely try to hand the application into the manager. Also, be persistent and almost pushy to try and set up an interview, but stop just short of being annoying. Someone that calls every couple days to follow up on a job is way more likely to get called in for an interview than someone who drops an application at the counter and waits for a call back. You have to show them that you want the job.

I'm in sales and you have to be very persistent and follow up on every job. You can't be the annoying car salesman type that pisses them off, but you have to let them know you want their business and can deliver exactly what they want and make them comfortable with giving you a half million dollar purchase order. Job hunting is very similar. You are selling yourself to them, so to speak...

And save the Mazzios thing for a last resort. It will put a bunch of unneeded wear and tear on your truck and you will never get ahead with paying for gas and maintenance on your truck. Not to mention your cab will reek of pizza for the next 10 years. Not real popular with the ladies, (unless they're big girls who like to eat) NOM NOM NOM. :D

Haha thanks guys, I went to mazzios and you have to be at least 18 to deliver but I still left an application so we'll see. I'll do what you guys said and give them a call in a couple days.

I had a job at jiffy lube when I was 16, flipping burgers aint too bad either. I think sonic will hire at 16.

I also hauled hay and worked at a couple of horse ranches cleaning stalls and grooming etc...actually the horse job was pretty cool, lots of little rich girls.

Well the truck is now at the dealership for a few issues (all minor) and a couple recalls I never had done. I have to say...I hate driving that thing with stock programming! It feels like the truck weighs a ton more.

BTW, they put me in a 2012 Jeep Patriot....lame.
