Does any place sell a 4.7 v8 cam? I've been searching and can't really find anything.

no not really. krc use to make one but they got bought out. best bet would be to search the classifieds on the other forums and hope somebody is selling one. I know lots of people seem to swap to the 4.7 ho cam. I guess you could always get a core and have a custom grind done on one.

I see them sell every now and then on Dodgetalk, I'll let you know if I see any pop up. The 4.7 has 2 cams btw.

I have been doing some research on cams lately and I am really interested in doing the swap myself... Does anyone have any suggestions to what cam performs best in the 5.7l? I don't want to extreme that its a pain to start when cold but something mild would be ideal!!

There isn't a lot out for the Eagle motors, hard to tune as well. The 392 cams go in easy and make some decent gains, but nothing crazy. Forced induction or Nitrous is the only way to make good power. My buddy has a Challenger 5.7 with heads and a cam and all the other stuff and made 369 to the wheels, from 310 or so stock. It was a good 4-5 grand worth of parts and tuning though. Blowers can be around 5K too, and make over 400rwhp easy.

Thanks for the advice !!

Yeah I mean my trucks power to weight ratio is nice now but that damn ls3 in those ss camaros get me every time!!!
From the factory I'm at 392hp and around 400lb of torque so my thoughts are with a cam, tune, new intake and injectors ill be happy?? I can do all the work myself so that should cut labor cost and I really want suggestions on which parts to buy so I don't buy wrong the first time!!!

Save for a blower kit or a wet nitrous system!

The Hemis are really good with nitrous. You should be able to run up to 100-150 hp with no worries.

You might have to go to a third gen Hemi or a chevy instead! The 4th gens are finally getting there...slowly and a few at a time. My buddy Gabe has a single turbo crew cab with a magic transmission that wlil run 12s easily, but it was a pricey build. His builder has a twin turbo RCSB AWD setup that is looking to hit low 11s.

I bought mine in the DodgeTalk classifieds. There is a thread there where someone was going to try the new 4.7L cams in an older (like mine) engine. You could look into getting a set of OEM cams reground to 206 specs, I guess. That was one way some folks went about things with the older 4.7s.

I will say HO cams are a mod well worth installing.
