Default Clutch fan is off!!

Now that the temps are down from SCORCHING here in Oklahoma, I pulled my mechanical clutch fan off my truck. It took a whopping 15 minutes to do and I only needed a small screwdriver and a BIG crescent wrench. I used the screwdriver to pop the clips out of the lower fan shroud, then to hold the water pump pulley still while i cranked CLOCKWISE on the fan. It wasn't even tight, came off super easy. Dropped the fan out the bottom....I did this solo....and then propped it up against the tire while putting the covers back on. No issues with temps in traffic or sitting, but it is 60 degrees here today.

Definately feels more spirited on the onramps...track night tomorrow to see if I can best myself!!!

I did this back in June and never had an issue except when I was in Vegas and had to deal with high temps AND dry air. Very nice dude.

Did you do a 180 stat also?

Yeah, I've had the 180 in since last fall....works great. Have the DSP fan settings at 186 low 196 high
My fan wasn't even hard to get off....no busted knuckles!

I did mine when my truck had about 4k miles, so I didn't have it too difficult. I am not familiar with the DSP fan; I anticipate it's strong enough fan to handle the heat? I have a Zirgo 2700 and it doesn't cut the mustard when it's 105* outside and I run the a/c. I do like NOT hearing the fan when I crank the truck up...

DSP, is his tuner, Diablo Sport Predator. It has adjustable fan settings for the efan on the AC, which allows you to remove the engine driven clutch fan.
