Yeah it called for a toruqe wrench but we didnt use one. Just tightened them just to where they wouldnt go anymore

did it call for a torque wrench or did it call to torque it to x about of lbs and then another half turn or whatever? that's the important part .. if it's just "torque to 80 ft lbs or whatever then it's fine"

you should always use a torque wrench when installing motor parts if it calls for it .. tightening things up too tight or not tight enough can lead to issues - check out harbor freight or ebay there are some really cheap options that are better than nothing

Just torque to x, we have a torque wrench now so I'll use it this time around.
