Default New "project" I'm puttering with.

Yes...I'm old enough to officially putter with stuff.

Here's something I decided to build after seeing similar items at the MWM.

As you can see it's pretty basic, well... unrefined, but I'm working on a way to add some embelishment. I'm going to build a couple of other versions as time and income permit.

Can you guess what it is?

Door prop...Yes indeed!

Gold star for you Tim!

I thought of a retention method today while puttering about with emblem placement. I'm thinking of having it patented.

I want a set for my truck. I think I'm going to buy a set of the LX ones and modify them to work.

Here's a shot of the mock-stall. I'm planning on painting it white to match the truck untill I can afford to have it powder coated.

Dave what is different about the 3rd and 4th gen Rams? Is it the striker? I wonder if there's a viable market for this?

The company everyone orders from doesn't make any of these for trucks, only the LX group. Kevin Gunder let me try one of his (for the Charger) and this was the result:

It looks like it just needs to come down a bit.

I wonder why that model doesn't go through the latch like the striker bolt does. You have a striker (u-shaped) for the latch right?
You need a laser system to cut those fancy ones. Mine is almost crude, but it's beefy with 1/8 thick steel. It;s also a bit more 3 demensional.
Still I wish I could afford a laser system...even a plasma table.

It is supposed to, but that is designed for a Charger, not a Ram.

Strange...of you have the U-shaped stiker the bolt you screwed into the door should have worked. You shut your door against that bolt like you would normaly and the latch engages the bolt and wraps around it just like it would the striker. That's how mine works.
The bolt doesn't pop out of the latch. Believe me I tried. And with the latch engaged you can lock it for more security.
