Thank you kindly Mr Morgan. Your PW will always be an inspiration. Good luck with your new truck!

New project started as well. Bought a grill off greed bay. Shoulda read the fine print that said "one piece". It's all good...I have a dremel tool and a selection of files. Now it's a shell of its former self :).

Plans are to paint it body color and add this emblem I bought off a guy on facebook.

So you are going to build a grill for it that is similar to the latest generations where they have the badge in the center of the cross hairs? I like that idea.

Y'know, that's a great idea David and I wish I'd thought of that! Makes the whole project feel kind of mundane now. :o
I'm putting this emblem in it's proper 2nd gen position. These emblems are so hard to locate because they were prohibitively expensive when new...but I've always wanted one in a painted grille.

Okiespaniels 05-15-2014 10:29 PM

Well....I've got color on the grille shell but it's been to cold to do much else but let it dry.

And that poor emblem. Had a problem while modifying it to fit in the recessed area properly. The cheap chinese chrome was damaged....and frankly it was a bit garish for my tastes...so I'm painting it.

Thanks again for reading my thread!

Got some black on the emblem tonight. The effect under different lighting is unique if not stunning. Here is is under my shop lights.

Looks great Al and congrats on the trophy.

myoung84 06-01-2014 10:48 AM

That front end looks great! Congrats!

Well, since my love lady bought herself a nice used '06 Charger R/T to drive I've been busy making room in the garage. This beast won't sit outside.

Still I started on the engine. This was brought about by an issue I've had for years with the throttle cable sticking. The pic shows why. Nice.

Also completed stage 1 of the engine re detail. Looks like an easy job but it was a total pain. The look is unique.

Stage two will be relocating the heater hoses and building plug wire retainers to clear headers. Stage three will be a set of OBS shorties.

Looking good! That cable was a disaster waiting to happen!

Hey, we're gonna keep this thread alive to try and help this forum.

So here's 2015's rundown...

Lined the bed floor and tailgate. May do the sides in '16

Changed the front springs out to fix the lean. Finally installed the front Bilsteins. Removed one arm, welded the zerk hole shut and drilled and tapped a new hole. Now I can finally grease the the bushing.

For 2016, I'd planned on replacing the crunched nerf bars and adding either headers or an electric fan setup.

Needed a new chrome bumper, but had them reuse my top piece of trim even though it was damaged. A reminder to be careful. I pretty much damage this truck more on the street than off road!

Oh...never again will intercos grace my truck and 4wp...can shove it!

Where was I...ah yes 2002. I decided to move from Mesa to Phoenix to be closer to my FT job, and leave a failed after marrage relationship. Got a decent place about 2 miles from the office.
In this photo you can see that while mud isn't easy to find in the Desert, when you find it it is A.just as fun to drive through and B. smells horrid. So I'm on my way to the car wash for a quick hosing off!

I'd said earlier that 2002 would be a challenging year...and it continued. I didn't listen to my spotter while climbing a rock with a protuding ledge and SSCCCCRRRAAPPPPPPPPEEE! Always wait for your spotter!

I would make one more major off road trip through box canyon to Martinez cabin then over to the coke ovens. This is the start of the trip. It was an all day affair and incredibly beautiful and scenic. ..and now off limits to offroaders thanks to a few azz hats who vandalized the properties. It also addresses the need for the truck to have more lift...The rear leafs were laying on the overloads and the truck nearly beat me to death!

That's about all for tonight folks, I'll add a few posts tomorrow.

Big black spot last picture is about?
