Playoffs are starting tomorrow night, Thunder vs Mavs... tipoff at 830. Thunder up!! I'm gonna guess that the Thunder will take this one to game 5...

I agree.

Matt
04-27-2012, 07:17 PM
it might go longer than you think if dirk goes on a run and if harden doesn't come back 100% they haven't played great the last few weeks of the season.. i still fully expect them to win tho

ramthis9501

Who would have guessed it... The Thunder sweeped the Mavs! Hell yeah!!

Matt

there's no way the nuggets are winning that series

BMRbrnSNRbrd

I don't care if they win or not, I just want them to make it a series.

The Lakers suck! :D

And the Heat got beat by the Knicks :rotflmao:

Matt
05-07-2012, 03:12 AM
the knicks have a ton of talent they just need a system that works for their strengths and a dominant head coach that they will respect they have a ton of potential

and obviously they lakers don't suck .. the thunder would have to win every championship till 2030 to have more than them ... the lakers are a dynasty and the thunder are definitely not over looking them i talked to tony which is kevin durants brother friday and they definitely have respect for them .. they have re-tooled and added a couple great pieces midseason in ramon sessions and jordan hill and bynum is the best center in the league minus dwight and he's still better than him offensively just dwight is a beast on the boards and defense ...

something to think about: this team has 2 years left the way it's constructed and then it's going to get blown up ... serge is only making 1.2 this year and harden 4.6 both of which are WAAAAY outplaying their contracts and are free agents after 2014 harden will probably get 13-15 a year and serge not far behind as a free agent

salary cap is 58-59 million and as it sits this year thunder are right at the max next year they are actually over by 4-5 million ... in 2014 they have 49 million allocated to just 7 players:

Kevin Durant
Kendrick Perkins
Russell Westbrook
Nick Collison
Cole Aldrich
Reggie Jackson
Lazar Hayward

that leaves only 10-12 million for 2 more starters and 6 bench players ... going to be rough

i say all that just to say i hope you thunder fans appreciate what you have now bc the front office has done a hell of a job drafting and you have a ton of talent at a big discount bc they are young ... hopefully they can keep both serge and harden but there is a big chance that they won't be able to get both or maybe not even 1 of them bc of the max deals durant/westbrook got

ramthis9501
05-08-2012, 07:43 PM
Just want to point out one thing on that... The Lakers have built up those playoff and championship wins over the past 30+ years. The Thunder is just now in their 4th year in the NBA and they have been in the playoffs 3 of those years. Pretty good start if you ask me. The reason I don't personally like LA is because of Kobe Bryant... but thats just me. Hell if they paid me just a percentage of what they're paying Lazar Hayward, Reggie Jackson, Cole Aldrich and the other 3rd stringers to sit on the bench 90% of the time, I'd do it in a heart beat lol I'm not bashing on them or anything, they are good but really need to work on their game more. Just gonna take some time like it did the guys we have now, but no matter what, I think we'll have a good team for a pretty long time. If they could take just a little bit off the salaries, they could recruit alot more players, but guess the higher ups need all the money they can get... Gotta do that to avoid another lockout to.

On another note, I just realized that Philidelphia has Chicago down 3 games to 1 and they're playing tonight... hope Philidelphia can knock them out tonight!

Matt
05-08-2012, 07:50 PM
the thunder are not a new team they have been an organization since 1967 for the last time you oklahomans are acting like they are an expansion team like the bobcats all they are is a team that reloacted and changed their names ... that's like calling the lakers a new team when they moved from minnesota to LA -- doesn't make sense ... the supersonics may not have been a dynasty but they did have some great runs and had 2 of the best players of the 90s in kemp and payton ...

guess you guys forget kd was drafted as a sonic

ramthis9501
05-08-2012, 08:43 PM
I understand that. The reason I said that though is because 10 out of 15 players on the team are made up of guys who have played 5 years or less in the pros. That to me is classified a newer, younger team compared to say the Lakers and pretty much all the other teams in the league.

Matt
05-08-2012, 09:26 PM
you are saying new instead of young .. if you would just say young i would agree with you but everyone keeps saying okc is a new team blah blah blah lol it's just not the case and they are only young now bc they sucked for soo many years and traded away all their good talent ie: ray allen, rashard lewis and several others to stock up on draft pics now it's all paying dividends and they are a good young team but like i said up there it's going to be hard to keep them together based on the new cba and the max and super max deals they gave westbrook and durant ...

also something to consider

a lot of people say things based on what other people say and not exactly a fact ... the lakers have gotten a lot younger this year and the thunder aren't exactly as young as you think they are ... they are younger yes .. but when you break it down the average age of the 14 lakers is 27.07 average age of the 15 thunder players are 26.4 hardly a night and day difference which puts la about the 15th oldest team and the thunder 19th oldest so 11 teams are younger than okc .. so are they all new teams as well?

Matt
05-08-2012, 10:35 PM

i think we have a typical thunder fan here that doesn't like facts :shitsweak:

ramthis9501
05-08-2012, 10:53 PM
Fact is a really young team that has most players that have little pro playing time are in the playoffs again. They just sweeped the defending champions and are going on to the semi-finals. Sorry I dont look up every single thing there is to know about every NBA team and player there is in the nation lol I just think its funny how you broke it down so far. And if your a Lakers fan, Im not holding anything against you, just hope you route for our home team when they play LA in the semi finals coming up this weekend more then likely

um nope i was born in california and have been a laker fan since i was a very young kid it would be very bandwagonish for me to drop them and become a thunder fan just bc they moved here 4 years ago .. i am a die hard laker fan through thick and thin however more than that i am a sports fan and love watching good athletics so yes i like the thunder and respect the amount of young talent they have however they are not my team

I love the Great state of OK so much that I will call it home no matter where I live. But when the Heat squeaks out Boston, I'm pulling for Lebron and Wade.

Matt
06-08-2012, 01:14 AM
if lebron can play light he did tonight it's going to be a series!!! monster game

ramthis9501
06-08-2012, 01:15 AM
Yeah Im surprised the Heat beat up on the Celtics that bad!

OklaHemi
06-08-2012, 01:28 AM
Thats is all I ask of him... Play like you arent getting paid for it(Elbow to the rim slammin). But boston is such a dangerous team. I pray Garnett doesnt have a good game.

BMRbrnSNRbrd
06-08-2012, 01:37 AM
I personally think we have a better shot against Boston, but I would prefer the Thunder take on the Heat for the championship.

Matt
06-08-2012, 01:38 AM
rondo is everything i could ask for in a pg .. i think he's the best point in the game and extremely valuable considering what he's making compared to other top notch pg

Matt
06-08-2012, 01:39 AM
I personally think we have a better shot against Boston, but I would prefer the Thunder take on the Heat for the championship.

i agree with that .. i think the thunder would run the celtics out of the building but everyone wants to see lbj vs kd

OklaHemi
06-08-2012, 01:47 AM
Rondo is awesome, I love watching the celtics when they arent playing the heat lol. I just want the heat there, I am really proud of the thunder for making it.

ramthis9501
06-08-2012, 01:52 AM
Yeah I think the Thunder would wipe the floor with Boston, but them playing the Heat would be a more exciting series. Plus it'd be more of a Hollywood type thing cause of all the stars and hyped up drama that's gonna go along with it.

Matt
06-08-2012, 01:56 AM
speaking of ... kd has a sweeeeet new mercedes with goldwing doors we just had in the bay a few weeks ago....

exactly ... when he left he got on it and it sounded much more racecar than a 200k luxury sports car lol

ramthis9501
06-08-2012, 02:18 AM
Must be nice... maybe lebron, wade and durant will all race their fancy cars when they come to town lol

OklaHemi
06-08-2012, 03:38 PM
lebron and wade will be on a jet

ramthis9501
06-10-2012, 08:28 PM
So it's going to be the Thunder vs Heat in the NBA Championship... My prediction... Thunder takes it in game 6!

Matt
06-10-2012, 08:41 PM
this is when it also goes 2-3-2 instead of 2-2-1-1-1 which isn't fair to the team with the best record imo bc if both teams win at home for first 5 that puts them down a game and the advantage to the team with the worse record... either way this should be a great series

ramthis9501
06-10-2012, 09:16 PM
Yeah I agree... pretty unfair to me. NBA and their stupid rules...

ramthis9501
06-12-2012, 11:50 PM

There's obviously 2 sides to every story but supposedly the arena employees are treating him like crap

The other side to the story is that he thought he could just walk up and get seats during the Spurs series. The people who are in charge of things at the arena told him that if he didn't already have a ticket, they were sorry, but tickets were sold out. He thought he was important enough to get in anyway. When they denied him, he tweeted about the incident and finished with "GO SPURS."

again ... that's not true... he was trying to purchase tickets through a ticket broker and then that company had issues getting them so he (his manager) tried to go directly to the thunder to get tickets they told him that he couldn't have courtside tickets ... they were going to get him some on the end but he didn't want them ... durant and harden reached out to him and offered courtside tickets but he turned them down because he felt disrespected from the organization not the players

the thunder also turned down his request for private parking and security measures ... this was a couple days after the shooting after the game... again another disrespect to him he felt, no arena is going to have a high profile celebrity just walk in like a normal person bc of the risk of all kinds of issues when toby keith for instance goes to a game you don't think he has to walk through the front door do you?

we have several friends through work that work for the arena and even they said it wasn't right how they treated him and that the ticket managers make things happen for high profiles all the time

i don't know what happened last night though but he did purchase his courtside seats last night

hell of a game from russ but he and collison are the only ones that seemed to show up ... and damn d wade played with some heart tonight

ramthis9501
06-19-2012, 11:58 PM
Yeah that really sucks that the Thunder lost that one after such an awesome performance from Westbrook. Durant got 28 points but just didn't seem to be as on fire as Westbrook. And Harden missed way to many of his shots... Can't win a Finals series playing like that.

06-24-2012, 10:06 AM
While okc may have lost because Miami played pretty ridiculously well in the second half of game 5.... ALL THREE of their previous wins were won nearly entirely by the extra 3 playin for them. Game 5 was a fair win by Miami, even though the refs still didn't call fair, okc actually did in my opinion get out played in that ONE game

Matt
06-24-2012, 12:38 PM
the refs don't blow a 17 point lead the refs don't come out with no energy in game 3/4 first halfs and get down by a bunch, the refs don't get out rebounded , or make less assists, or shoot worse from 3s

listen to your own coach scott brooks "they beat us fair and square" super stand up dude his speech at the ending of game 5 was as classy as it gets

i think yall are letting a couple calls turn into something way bigger than it was
