Anybody know if 3rd gen cab light will work on top of a 2nd gen cab?

according the recons website they do, they list diff part numbers for the 2nd gen and 3rd gens, however when ever I clicked on the 3rd gen ones ad started reading about them it said they fit and look good on 2nd gens trucks as well as 3rd gens. so they leads me to believe that yes they fit. most likely it's the same connector just a diff style or shape of cab light

I can't think of any reason they shouldn't either. But when ordering from RECON the 3rd gen cab lights come w/ everything to install on a truck that's never had Cab lights before but the 2nd gen package comes with ONLY replacement housings to plug into existing wires for a truck that already has cab lights.

That was probably just a matter of a lack of motivation on Recon's part. Think about it, when Recon started production, the third gens were most likely already out, so why bother spending time and money developing a complete setup on a (technically) obsolete truck? They most likely just offer second gen replacements because it's the same light and housing as the third gens.
