I saw one guy who was spamming every section of DT about it like it was God's gift to trucks...didn't really look into it.

hmmm from what i read, which isnt much, its the same idea as noise canceling for stereo components, supposed to smooth idle. im going to try it on my tahoe as it has a really rough idle and no one seems to be able to pinpoint the problem. 3 dealerships and nothing has been said other than these engines just run rough. BS its a 2007 and the revs bounce all over at idle.

Works well indeed! :) My buddy with a truck and an LX did both...worked well on both his rides. I'm building wires for me and Dustin tomorrow...

Timmy, how much to make me one as well? I started reading through the 15+ page thread and it sounds legit. There were a couple of members that I highly respect (jmgak, shikkityshack) who tried and now swear by it.

I got it made already...just waiting for a break in the rain! I know it will help out, it's why I went and got the wire. I could do one of these for 10 bucks, maybe less....it could be done way cheaper, but I got really good wire. Let me know!

I used cheap speaker wire and figured out how I wanted to route it, then had the shop cut me that length in really thick shielded 10 awg ground wire. It will last forever. The wire was 15 bucks for about 8 feet :)

Dustin's: He has the Volant, so more room to hide the wire than my airbox void! :)

I didn't get this done today, chrissys sister showed up and they disappeared. I was going to use 4 gauge since I have it, is that too big?

there's no such thing as too big for any electrical wire

I might give this one a try. I need to do the "Big 3" anyways. My battery already looks like an octopus with cables coming off for the winch and amp. Im sure some 2 or 4 gauge cable from the alternator to the battery will be a huge help.

That is a great idea Morgan!

I put my ground wire on this morning, we shall see!

Well the hoe is parked today so after I get my hair did I'm going to put it on. I also have to change out the headlights on that damn chevy, I'm not looking forward to that.

dumb question but you are doing the other 2 of the big 3 right?

myoung84

Yes, I will do all 3. I think the alternator to battery is the most important, but the other 2 aren't far behind....

yes and no it brings in the power but unless you have a return for the entire circuit you are still bottlenecking it like running 0 ga to your amp but 10 ga ground

My buddy gave me some free 10 guage wire so I can make one more....free of charge :)

i tried this on the hoe but the battery is grounded to the engine block. i couldnt tell a difference at all. should i try another ground spot?

BMRbrnSNRbrd

I thought you were supposed to ground to fender CLOSE to the battery.

916Timmy
01-25-2012, 07:01 PM
I used the fender ground

There isnt one on the hoe the batt is grounded to the engine. I ran the wire the the neg batt post and its smooth idle. All hail the god champion

there's a spot where the engine is grounded to the frame tho you could use that

I havent driven it but in chrissy's words it is gone. she said if she sat there and "looked" for it she would notice a small amount of disruption but it wasnt apparent like before. she is happy so i am happy

OklaHemi
01-26-2012, 01:36 PM

Mine hasn't really done anything either...time for the multi-meter test!

OklaHemi
02-08-2012, 11:16 PM
i cant say whether i notice anything or not, there wasnt a huge difference. someone did put a multimeter to it to show the difference. i still notice the rough idle in the tahoe. im going to swap out the fuel filter
