One more question, I can run two amps off the same amp turn on wire right?

Matt

yes just run a jumper wire from 1 amp to the other

Like connect it amp to amp or just the wires on the back of the headunit?

Matt

run a remote wire from the head unit to 1 of the amps and then where you connect it to the amp run a jumper from there to the other amp if they are both close or you can run two off the headunit either way it works just easier the other way ... guessing you're running a 4 channel for your mids/highs?

What I'm wanting to do is get a mono amp to run my sub off of and use the amp I have now to hook up to the speakers.

why? is it not loud enough for you now? if so is it the sub or the mids/highs that aren't loud enough. what amp do you have now? does your headunit have more than 1 set of rca's?

No lol I want it louder :D I just talked to an "expert" from sonix electronics and got it all figured out. I got a new project but don't want to give it away yet... I'll make a new thread on it soon. Thanks for the help Matt.

if you're looking to get louder i'd start at building another box ... one of the cheaper upgrades you can do .. the box for the sub is atleast 60% of the sound

Amping you mids and highs will give you a much more clearer sound just make sure you have cross overs of that the mids and highs have built in cross overs first. Mids and highs in my tahoe are amps with a 1000watts and my subs are being pushed with 7500watts its hellacious

not necessarily alot of lower end amps just make the speakers louder and don't help with the sound quality the better amps have alot better components and that makes a big difference and also better xovers

oh really? what amps do you have? and how many batteries?

an AQ 3500.1 amp will throw up to 15000 with the right voltage. at 18v 7500watts

an AQ 3500.1 amp will throw up to 15000 with the right voltage. at 18v 7500watts

The AQ3500D.1 is one of our most powerful Amplifier with up to 7500 watts @ 1ohm @ 18volts for those guys and ladies who want to push their systems to the limit. You can strap a pair of AQ3500D.1'S for a woofer busting 15000 watts @ 2ohm. Born in the same place as our popular AQ1200D and AQ2200D and built with the very best parts money can buy the AQ3500D.1 offers the best watt per dollar value in its power range.
WARNING
You MUST have an upgraded electrical system sufficient to provide the amperage required to handle the 380 amp fuse rating of the AQ3500D.1 (760 amps for a pair) in order to satisfy this beast.

i guess this is where you read that .. at 18v it might be 7500 watts but you aren't running an 18 volt system you're running a 12v the best electrical systems could push 14.4 but i doubt that you'd be able to sustain that bc that amp is a monster so you're only seeing 4k max bc ur probably actually at 12 volts or lower when the system is up

the 15000 watts rating is for strapping a pair of 2 of them together not just 1

o I see. my buddy was the one telling me it was putting that much out and what it was rated for he said it was on audioques website on the amps specs.

guess i was wrong but it definatly was a beast and I really miss not owning it anymore
