Just left my orthopedic doctor...surgery Monday afternoon. He showed me the MRI and its very obvious. I'm having a left L5 discectomy...escentually they are taking off the piece of vertebrae that is resting against the large nerve that runs down my left leg. It sucks but I'm tired of hurting all the time.

Ouch! At least they can fix it! What kind of down time are you looking at?

Two weeks off then six weeks light duty.

L4/L5 surgery in 2004....

You don't want my opinion...I was BUTCHERED twice by Army doctors in El Paso....

Do everything your physical therapist says, it helps a LOT.

That's what I'm worried about are all the horror stories. My doctor apparently has a good success rate, so we'll see.

I should have known better when the doc had a picture of his new motorcycle sitting on the desk...
I inquired... "Yeah, I picked this up real cheap from my last patient."

I guess he wanted my bike too. That sorry*%^#&#*.

Best of luck to you. Take the recovery seriously...don't be that guy.
