I was looking at some old pics and I kinda miss being lifted/leveled. I am considering going back up soon and maybe adding a 1.25" body lift... Then putting on some 34-35" tires when these Coopers wear out...

It's a tough decision, I know I've had both too. Went from stock to a 2/4 drop then to a 4" lift I love them both. I can say that I like being able to drive over stuff now lol and hey mine is 2wd also.

I do like the look of your your truck Matt. Morgan if you do want to lift it, I say do it but get it HIGH! Like a 6" inch lift or something lol

Honestly, if I didn't have to drive so far to work, mine would be lifted. The problem I have is lifting and driving a lot (Morgan knows what I'm talking about) means lower gas mileage and getting like 30k miles MAX out of tires.

Yeah I do drive at least 25k miles a year, so the increased gas mileage from lowering is nice. I'm really torn on this, I really like both looks. I think I'll wait until this winter and see how it does in the snow, that will be the deciding factor. I definitely won't be doing a 6" lift, that's too much for me. I guess you could say it would get a 5.25" lift from the current stance... Since I drive so much, I will probably stick with stock size tires, maybe a little wider... My Coopers are actually wearing pretty well. I have over 20k miles on them and they have at least 25-30k left. And that's with heavy use of the skinny pedal. A normal person could probably get 75k miles out of them. :D

no true at all lol i had a set of super aggressive procomp extreme mt's and i got 61k out of them and i treated them like crap ... you can get a pretty beefy mud terrain now a days and have them last 50k no problems

Maybe so...but the gas mileage.

Gas mileage? What's that? Haha, idk I didn't really see a difference in my mileage from going dropped to lifted, but I never calculated it tho. But it doesn't hurt the wallet. If ur driving the truck everyday like I do it becomes normal and I don't give my mileage a second thought.

2 winters down and i have no problem with my truck on ice. i dont go plowing through fields or pulling people out of ditches but i get around just fine. even when i had my 05 4x4 the only time i would hit the 4 button is when i was coming through the western slope and front range in colorado

Gas mileage is the only thing I am worried about, but it won't be enough to break the bank. I think I have decided to drop in some 4.56s lift it back up 5.25" and put on some A/T 33s when my coopers wear out. The gears and lift might happen after Christmas...

33's are going to look tiny lifted 5.25 ... why aren't you going to 35's?

Eh...I had 4.56s in my '04 for a few months (bad install) and I think 4.10s are smarter for a daily driver.

myoung84

I'm going up 5.25" from my current 2/4 drop. 2" front level and possibly a 1.25" body lift so I think a 33-34 would be good. 35s might look stuffed. 4.10s aren't worth it for me since I already have 3.92s. I had 4.56s in my 04 and liked them a lot.

Are you going to upgrade the lsd as well or just use the stock?

Mine is going to be a 4.10 and DTT setup! :) Can't wait!

I'll just use the stock LSD, it's good enough for me.

i thought there was a guy rolling 37's on the new body style with a little trimming and a level kit ... 35's should be awesome fitting ... and isn't the price nominal difference between 1.25 and say 2-3" ....

nightmatt
08-27-2011, 08:48 PM
Dang 37's would be sweet. Only thing that sucks about them is gas mileage. U would deff notice a difference. Ohh and replacing front end parts all the time lol

Matt
08-28-2011, 06:30 AM
^^ tell me about it lol my 37s are like 30 lbs heavier each than my 35s were ....

myoung84
08-28-2011, 11:13 AM
Definitely won't be going with 37's! We'll just have to see how the money situation is when it comes time to buy new tires, that's still a year away...

08-28-2011, 11:33 AM
Yeah I was going to jump up a few sizes with tires and put that level kit that's sitting in my basement on but I went with stock tires for now maybe in 6 months when I need new tires i'll get bigger tires and put that level on

Terrence

wonder if they make 4.30s for my truck?? cause 4.10s would be kinda pointless since I already have 3.92s and I really dont want 4.56s

myoung84
08-28-2011, 07:40 PM
I've never seen 4.30s for the 9.25" rear end. That's would be the perfect gear though.

Im partial to lowered trucks but lifted trucks are bada$$ too. but a body lift? :supergay: Thats just my 2cents.

myoung84
09-04-2011, 11:24 PM
Not a full 3" body lift, I don't care for those. Just a 1.25" to give it a little extra lift for cheap.
