So I'm thinking I'm not happy with my 2/4 drop...it just doesn't have the same effect it did on my '04 because of the dimensions of the newer trucks. A couple of guys have started trimming their 2/4 springs for 3/5 or even 4/7! I know that the best way to do it is using a cutoff wheel and doing a little at a time...any thoughts?

I like the 3/5! 4/7 is too low unless you have smaller tires.

A good friend of the lower class Greg aka redtruck-va has installed aeon springs with great results. Im going to order a set for the front and rear

these new trucks look real fat in the middle and when they are lowered real low i think they look better like 1000x on 22"s+ the 20's look so small when they are lowered

Even my 33" A/T tires look small with my 2.4 drop.

IMO if you go any lower......going to need bigger rims, going to have to agree with matt

To answer your question BMR the cut off wheel is the cleanest way. Tip keep the spring cool so it doesnt loose its temper and sag. Just use wayer while your cutting to keep the heat down. If I remember correctly half a coil equals about one inch. Im about to trim the front springs in mine. Truck looks good like it sits but a lil lower is always nice.

Doesn't trimming the springs cause the wheels to get out of balance?

There is no connection between wheel balance and spring length...only alignment.

I'm tired and didn't even know what I was saying lol that's what I meant... I thought after you trimmed the springs it would be near to impossible to get it back to perfect alignment?

Especially the Rams. Mine has 24s with a 2/4 and I think they look small.
