So, what should I do next?

:hmmm2:

Truck, as it sits today (well, minus headlights - they got pulled right after this pic)

List of shit done (what I remember):
Custom tune
CAI
Torque Converter
Stereo
Quicklift / rear adjustable shocks
Body lift
Wheels / tires
Tinted tails
Cutout
5" tips
Hydro'd interior trim
Hood
stripes
Painted mirrors, bumpers, badges, antenna cap
Bakflip / bedrug
Bestop boards

Whats coming already? Painted door handles (been here for a year), new heads / fogs at some point.........soon.

I'd really love to stumble over a set of sport seats........but I want cloth, and not the crazy prices I've seen on eBay lately.

What would you do next? :happy160:

I know the answer already, but HD front swap or partial swap?

man, it was literally hours ago I was thinking of a HD bumper on this truck..............

I just wish it wasn't something that required welding.......even though I know a guy that can do it (my second painter) - I just don't know what all is involved for it. If I didn't have the hood.....I would get the HD apm hood to go with it.

oh, I'd need new flares for the HD bumper too.................

The HD bumper swap would be sweet but I like it best if you go all the way with hood and grille...

yeah, thats too much there.

There's something to be said about leaving well enough alone too. lol

Save your pennies and buy a regular cab sport. :D

Oh.....there's enough sitting in the piggy right now for that. I think the wife would cut off my balls though! Can you image a nice shiney R/T in the garage next to my truck? Park the minivan on the street, my bitches need the garage! :D

Lol. You have two kids already. Do you really need your balls? Haha

Nope, not at all!

I don't need a 2014 R/T either. LOL

This is clearly a need vs. want scenario...I can't see anything else done to the truck going in the "need" category. Therefore, if everything is going to be listed as "want" anyway, why not a nice fast RC?

I figured out a few needs this morning.......

- cutout. Damn thing is stuck open. Either need to replace batteries in the remote, or swap the controller, etc. Who knows.....damn thing. My dumbass was thinking of a maggy catback too - but, $$, and I truly love the duality of the cutout. When it works. LOL
- New alarm. I have one remote that doesn't work. Other is a 1 way, which is annoying. And my remote start no longer works.......so fuck it, its going to get replaced
- backup camera. Talked about it a few months ago......time to get it done.

I like all of those.

On the cutout, is it Raceland? I know Carl Lucetti from DT has had a lot of problems with his controller, but I don't know how he has it wired. The cutout on my truck is a Raceland and its the same one that was on my '04...it has to be at least four or five years old now. The only problem I've had is the motor shorting out, which was my fault. The zip tie holding the wiring up broke so the wiring rested on the exhaust, melted through, and shorted. I got lucky though and found a guy on another forum that happened to have an extra, brand new motor that he sold me for the cost of shipping. I paid him this morning and can't wait to get it in and have my cutout working again.

I get the new alarm and actually an alarm/remote start is high on my list of priorities. Another is a sound system overhaul...which I need badly.

I think the exterior of your truck is perfect, other than the headlights, which I know you will get to eventually. Have you thought of a forward facing light bar? I know your truck isn't an offroad beast or anything, but tastefully done it could look great.

yeah, Raceland. Just need to replace the batteries first, go from there.

I may go with an offroad light setup when TRS comes out with their next round of bars. Soon. ;)

Did you do headers JJ?

0212353
10-22-2013, 11:24 PM
nah, and I'm trying like mad to stay away from shit that I can't do myself in a short timeframe........tired of f'ers working on my truck and jackin' shit up.

Gotcha,

how about some gator seats? :troll3:

Headers are a bitch in these trucks, or at least the 2500s. It took me 6-8 hours to do mine.

Since winter is coming up you could install a heated seat kit... Very easy to do.

I don't really use those........

In the van yes, but its leather. On cloth - I just don't use that. Getting my remote start going again would be nice. Damn thing says the hood is open. Pretty sure I didn't even install the hood popper thing........can't remember - I installed how you did Morgan. ;)

I love my heated cloth seats.

For the remote start, I would honestly go with a factory setup if you replace it again. I really like the Viper I installed in my 10 but I like how simple and reliable the factory remote start is. Sure it's not 2-way, but it has decent range and always works. The Viper worked most of the time but it seemed that the Chall module had some quirks. And I don't believe I installed a hood pin when I installed mine. It's probably a good idea to have one so you don't chop your fingers off when it starts with your fingers in the serpentine belt or something. :D

most of the alarm installers i know don't do a hood pin and instead ground it somewhere under the dash .. as with most things electronics wise it's not the quality of the hardware that's the issue it's the quality of the installation i've put 4 viper setups on my cars and loved them sometimes you get a shitty bypass module and have to reflash it every couple years or something but being able to start/lock/unlock my truck from anywhere in the wold on my phone is something i won't do without again limitless range is great

yeah, no stock for me. I'm paying for the phone thing....so, might as well use it. Or something. :D
